When Crab Was King: The Rise and Fall of the Kodiak King Crab Fishery
A Year-long radio project of the Kodiak Maritime Museum
Cash Flowed and the Town Grew (Episode 2)
05-09-2008
One of the big impacts of the Kodiak king crab fishery was the way it mushroomed the size of the town. In this week's When Crab Was King, we hear long-time Kodiak merchant Norm Sutliff talk about how the town grew. And Marcy and Harold Jones tell how you couldn't beg, borrow or steal a place to live during the height of the king crab fishery in Kodiak.
